2005 Obama Letter: My Goodness, I Cannot Convey How Strongly Opposed I Am to Universal Surveillance and Fishing Expeditions
Every bit of this con artist is contrived and false.
He then amplified this letter (signed by him, but written by someone else) by talking about civil liberties in a speech now regarded as "hilarious... perhaps the greatest comic masterpiece since A Night at the Opera--" Rex Reed, The New Yorker.
If someone wants to know why their own government has decided to go on a fishing expedition through every personal record or private document - through library books they've read and phone calls they've made - this legislation gives people no rights to appeal the need for such a search in a court of law. No judge will hear their plea, no jury will hear their case. This is just plain wrong.
James Rosen could not be reached for comment, but a secret government surveillance into all of his phone calls and emails says he's pretty pissed.
