Don't pull a SCOAMF move this weekend and forget what it is supposed to be about but do have fun with friends and family and take a moment to honor the fallen this Memorial Day.
USS Porter Collision
In the aviation world, we have a lot of training in something called aircrew coordination training (ACT) or cockpit resource management (CRM). Careful analysis of aircraft mishaps had determined that poor aircrew coordination and loss of situational awareness had contributed to or caused over 60% of mishaps. ACT was implemented in order to improve aircrew communication and situational awareness and lower human error in aircraft mishap rates. It is painfully obvious after listening to the audio of the USS Porter's bridge leading up to the collision that ACT/CRM training might be of value there.
I imagine this book, How To Avoid Huge Ships is a pretty popular read now. The book reviews are teh funneh.
How To Open A Beer
Might come in handy this weekend.
X-Wing Lego
Good God. Full scale Lego X-Wing fighter. Only 5,335,200 pieces! I'm disappointed though. The S-foils can't lock into attack position.
