The Redacted Gaming thread

Apparently my first draft wasn't "acceptable" but the news must go on even though there wasn't much of note that happened this past week. Down below we go

Hello, The Dude abides for gaming news.

VGLeaks talks about the rumored specs on the upcoming Xbox CPU. It's a simple AMD Jaguar CPU. Hmm, either something is missing or that's still kinda weak.

Want to melt your computer down? Bohemia Interactive is letting you pre-order the upcoming ArmA III which also gets you into the alpha. I'm a big fan of ArmA but I can't say I want to see an alpha build from them as their finished product always completely unoptimized (worse than Bethesda in this regard). But, most of the packages are cheaper than what you would be paying for it at release so a good pre-order indeed.

Where in the world is Carme.....Star Wars 1313?

This is far and away one of the dumbest videogame theories I've ever read

The Vita has been saved as last week saw the release of it's version of Senran Kagura in Japan. Though the camera gets a bit wonky, it's an awesome brawler and a great cast. You can order a physical copy from your favorite importer or buy it on the Japanese PSN store. Just be prepared for tons of fan service and I do mean tons of it.

Also last week saw the US release of Etrian Odyssey IV. I like how they broke off from the path the series had been on in making it easier by just having a casual mode for weaklings while letting people who actually like first person dungeoncrawlers. And Wynna has some really cool lines like her talking about having a lady boner as hard as steel. Great pickup.

This week we see the release of Crystal Dynamics' reboot of Tomb Raider. Been getting great reviews so far but they all say that it's not really a Tomb Raider game but rather a Uncharted game which is kinda disappointing but with the way the market has gone, it's kinda understandable. The kills in the game are really brutal too which is an interesting turn but I still pre-ordered it if nothing more than for the hair physics on the PC version (after so many years of tech demos from AMD and Nvidia, thank god).

People find out how expensive making games is and freakout. And people wonder why 2D fighting games is sadly a thing of the past, especially in HD

Wadjet Eye published point and click Gemini Rue is coming to the iOS which is nice. I will definitely double dip on it

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment got a PSN re-release which sadly doesn't play on the Vita (fix coming soon). Worth dropping $10 for it if you don't mind the constant random battles (at least it was improved over the first game).

That is about it. If I missed anything you think is news, post below.

bonus because Zakn is sick

extra bonus because it was a crappy week in news

digg this
