Fun With Serious You Guys

Whoever said Serious You Guys, I owe you. (It was IanS. Serious You Guys, he's awesome!!! :) (g) )

I'm having lots of fun with this construction. You have to imagine it said in a cloyingly earnest plaintive whine, like an 8th grader saying Let's Not fight Guys at a sleepover, and then it's kind of funny.

You can deploy it a whole bunch of variations:

I'm libertarian sympathetic, but reading the comments at Reason's Hit & Run generally cures me of that impulse. Half of them think global warming is Serious You Guys and all of them think Islamists would shut down the jihad if we left them alone.
