What if alleged killer Chris Dorner is captured or killed as the SOTU begins? Obama could face a Bill Clinton/O.J. verdict moment.

Yannow, it's not a terrible question, in and of itself. But it does reveal a certain mindset -- no leaf can fall and no chick can hosta without Obama's Palace Guard asking "How does this affect Our Glorious Majesty, the King?"

By the way, I'm guessing the cabin part -- I just can't imagine how else a gun battle goes on for so long, unless Dorner has significant cover.

Reports from scanner traffic of two officers down. Confirmed: Two deputies shot.

Rumor -- police has called in an armored vehicle to evacuate the wounded officers.

This is near highway 38 in the Barton Flats area.

Believed home invasion, with couple being tied up, and attempted carjacking (or did he just steal the couple's car? Or both?). Not known if he has hostages.
