You're only here for the cosplayer (aka Gaming thread)

Gaming below

Afternoon, Zakn Here. I don't have much this week, as I posted the fucking Phone book last week :)

Gabe Newell of Valve has been very much in the news lately. By design for sure. Here's a video of his lecture at UT. Note It's an hour long, so Bookmark it for later watching.

That's all I have for this week. If you are a Moron and Play EVE. The in game channel is AoSHQ

If you would like to write something Gaming related and have it posted here, Send it to aoshqgaming at gmail dot com

Thanks!

Hello, The Dude here

Not much actual news this week, more anticipation of the upcoming consoles than anything

In the doldrums that is January for iOS games, we actually got a couple of decent games that came out last week. This year's entry in one of my favorite series, Baseball Stars 2013 with GameEvil continuing their tinkering of their version of Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu's (couple of games were rebranded and released in the States as MLB Power Pros) Success Mode. Though I do wish they would go back to a game that wasn't free, the way the series has progressing has been pretty good. LambdaMu Games (devs of Dice Soccer) has taken a stab at F2P sims game with their release of Pixel People but they forgot the freemium aspect as for the time I put into it so far, I haven't hit a pay wall yet. And the classic hard ass hell Choose Your Own Adventure book, House of Hell has gotten the iOS treatment courtesy of Tinker Man Games. Nope, I've owned the book since the 80's and I still can't beat this thing but that being said, it's one of the best CYOA adaptations to hit iOS

And speaking of iOS, apparently Temple Run 2 has already racked up over 50 million downloads. Not bad for a two person team.

Looking to get a drop on Microsoft, looks like Sony will be unveiling the PS4 on the 20th at 6PM eastern and 4PM pacific. Will be live streamed to everyone

Though you still won't get Monster Hunter, Soul Sacrifice got a US release date. Out on April 30th. Japanese VO as as a pre-order is still a head scratcher

If you skipped Muramasa on the Wii (one of the small handful of games that was worth playing on the Wii), Aksys is giving you a second chance with the expanded version of the game on the Vita. Supposed to be a great port though it sucks that it can't be released on a system that people actually care for.

Well, it's not like he does much anymore other than be a "producer" but Suda 51 sold out as Grasshopper Manufacture has been sold to Gungho Online (owners of the devs of Ragnarok Online). If there is a positive, it's that at least Gungho has cash so they can fund Grasshopper's bombas.

Xseed wasn't done with just announcing a US release of Pandora's Tower as they also announced Grasshopper's Killer is Dead (PS3/360), Rune Factory 4 (3DS), Valhalla Knights 3 (Vita), Ys: Memories of Celceta (Vita) and Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles+ (PC). Considering how hard Grasshopper's games bomb, it doesn't surprise me that it's going to a small pub in the US but Xseed's desire to release every Valhalla Knights game is interesting as frankly they're not that good. The Ys releases makes me very very happy though, far and away the series that I've played the most. Updated version of Book4 which is the one I've never played before makes me cream my pants. And throw in a mash of the Chronicles and Complete editions of Book 1 and 2 for the pc and I'm a day one even though I own 4 different editions of it already and have beat both at least 20 times over the years (still home to some of the best soundtracks in videogames). Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles+ is already up for pre-order on Steam for the low pre-order price of $12.74 (down from $14.99)

Finally got some news on the under-rated fighter, Skull Girls and it's oft delayed PC release. Maybe it will light a fire to get some more awesome fan-art

During their third quarter finacial report, Nintendo announced a directive of helping Japanese devs bring their games to the West. Honestly, considering how risk adverse Nintendo is, I really don't see this amounting to a hill of beans which is sad considering the dearth of good games on the 3DS hitting the US.

Warcraft movie is going to suck as they found a director to replace Raimi. Duncan Jones (Moon and Source Code) is now attached

PBS actually did a nice quick doc on eSports for people who don't know about it

Considering how hard the two games bombed, it should come to no shock that Warren Spector's Junction Point has been shuttered.

That's it
