This is what Todd Akin needs to understand. And that's what he needs to president foremost in his mind. What I think Mr. Akin should try to realize here as he makes his decision is that all of these things that he truly cares about will be much easier to make happen if we win the Senate and the White House and hold the House this November. He must put the nation and its future ahead of everything else that he's considering. And I hope he comes to the right conclusion.

Rush also made comments about the perils of talking only with people who agree with you, which leads to an unwarranted belief in untrue things.

Not to depress everyone but you know the bad part? When people, who are currently in a dream-world had have not done the most basic math, realize we can't win the Senate due to Akin, and therefore repealing ObamaCare is not on the ballot in November.

What does that do to enthusiasm? I'll tell you what it's done to mine: It's killed it.
