Art Thread- ATTENTION ALL L.A. AREA MORONS: IT IS TIME
On June 24th, Levitated Mass, Los Angeles' new granite ruler, opens to the public at LACMA.
Covered earlier here while it was on tour, the hour has come.
IF you lived along the route the gigantic rock traveled along (from Riverside County out through San Bernardino, Orange, and finally Los Angeles), you get free admission to LACMA through July 1st, so check for your zip code before going.
I shall make my pilgrammage, gorging on a BK Bacon Sundae, in my finest plaid. You better believe there will be pictures. Unfortunately, the better half hates crowds so opening day is a no-go. I'm bummed about that- we'll miss the ritualistic sacrifice of a random Angeleno to appease our new lord.
LACMA is on Wilshire Blvd across from the Peterson Auto Museum, which has the best hobo-free parking garage around and frees you from the inevitable $600 street parking ticket.
Unless, of course, you think standing under a gigantic rock is silly. Ridiculous. A waste of time.
Its ok. We know you're afraid of its awesome power. Pacifiers and diapers for you then.
