No, seriously.

The Republicans have decided to not formally rebut the President's Thursday night speech. I think that's a bad call myself -- always rebut, even if you're not even rebutting, but merely selling your own ideas and your own credentials as pro-jobs -- but that's what they decided.

Nancy Pelosi is furious. Furious that we're not rebutting Obama.

Yes, furious. You see, it's now also disrespectful (by which we mean racist) to not rebut the President's horse-load.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says that the Republican leadership’s decision to forgo a direct response to President Barack Obama’s jobs speech Thursday is “not only disrespectful to him, but to the American people.”

The California Democrat, in a Tuesday night statement, blasted the tactical decision of House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) not to take to the airwaves to state what’s otherwise clear: He doesn’t agree with the bulk of Obama’s proposals.

A GOP aide quipped: “This is just dumb. The former speaker is criticizing us for passing up an opportunity to criticize the president."

Some things are so stupid you actually feel kind of stupid in noting that they are stupid.

In related news, Joe Wilson apologized in advance for not planning to shout "You lie!" to President Obama.

"I wish to apologize for my racial insensitivity," he stated via a press release. "I realize that it is an act of racial hatred to not tell the president he's a liar, but I have a pre-existing commitment to watch the Packers-Saints game and shout 'You lie!' at Al Michaels. If it would help ease racial tensions, I am, however, willing to call President Obama and tell him 'You Lie!' in a voicemail, which he can then re-play, at at time of his choosing, during his address."
