Well, both critiques apply to FoxNews, too. But CNN is specifically called out in the SNL sketch.
First, SNL mocks CNN for "interactive reporting," which means reading idiots' Tweets and Facebook messages as "news." Like, because, they're more professional 'n stuff than bloggers. BTW, when I call out a comment, it's never just venting. It's a longer thing making a real point, or it's funny. All CNN does is repeat the "rah rah"/"I"m outraged" kind of stuff.
The Onion meanwhile calls out cable news for running "Breaking News" stuff all day about silly bullshit. A fair amount of cursing here, and I have to give you another warning: You're probably going to see a commercial for Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story if you play it.
Funny, but an inarguable ripoff of the British parody. Also with some cursing:
Since I'm linking SNL, I guess I should link their cold-open from this weekend's show, in which they state, repeatedly, and accurately, the health care plan is massively unpopular. But I guess that hurt them too much to say, so at the end, they state, inaccurately, that Obama himself is still wildly popular.
