Proof Fox News Isn't A "Real News Orgainization": Right Wing FNC Hack Wooed By GOP To Run For Senate
Oh wait, it's left wing hack Ed Shultz at down the middle of the road, real news organization MSNBC who is being wooed by North Dakota Democrats to run for the Senate.
My bad.
State House Minority Leader Merle Boucher told POLITICO he made an official overture to Schultz late Tuesday night about launching a campaign and said he believes the TV commentator is "intrigued by the idea."
"We have to find someone that has a high profile and a national fundraising base, and I can't think of anyone better than Ed Schultz in that regard," said Boucher. "He certainly didn't say no to me by any means," he added.
Dorgan's retirement announcement took state Democrats by surprise and immediately sent party leaders scrambling for a viable opponent to take on likely Republican candidate Gov. John Hoeven. Hoeven, who led Dorgan by double digits in public polls this fall, is expected to announce his candidacy within weeks.
You see according to the mental giants, Dorgan retired not because North Dakotans were sick of supporting liberal, big government programs but because they wanted someone even more liberal and supportive of big government programs. Yeah, that's the ticket guys...run really, really liberal guys in red states. Please.
Obviously the reality is they know this a lost seat so why not go for stunt casting. Still, I think this is a fantastic idea. Why wouldn't the Dems want to run a genius who thinks Great Britain has been America's "best ally since the country started". Apparently they don't teach anything about the American Revolution wherever good old Ed went to school. You can see more of Ed's special kind of smarts here.
In fact I think this is such a great idea Democrats should try it elsewhere.
NY Democrats are so sick of Kirsten Gillibrand they are considering running Tennessee transplant Harold Ford Jr. against her, I say we form a committee to draft a real, lifelong NY'er to run against her...Keith Olbermann.
What's the worst that could happen? He'd win? He won't be any different in terms of voting than your average NY Democrat who would win the seat. We'd also see less of him (if that's possible given how piss poor his ratings are compared to Fox) and the entertainment value would be huge!
He's going to need a campaign slogan. Any thoughts?
