Yglesias: Dodd showed "a ton of integrity" in stepping down
Of course, of course. That's the ticket - I.N.T.E.G.R.I.T.Y.
..Somewhat ironically, in stepping down Dodd is actually exhibiting a ton of integrity—doing the right thing for his country, his party, and the progressive political movement...
Similar "integrity" was displayed by the Japanese when they surrendered on the deck of the Missouri, and when Doenitz was handed the mantle of the 1,000 year Reich and gave it all up to go fishing
or something.
History is replete with such displays of "integrity". Nixon resigning. LBJ not running again. The King agreeing to the Magna Carta. BetaMax accepting gracious defeat at the hands of VHS. Philby coming out of the closet and going with his "true feelings".
Apparently wretched gut wrenching soul devouring defeat always has the silver lining of integrity associated with it. If you want to keep your integrity and reputation intact - FAIL.
