BCS College Stuff UPDATED
Commenter logprof suggested this in the open NFL thread below, and I like good suggestions. BCS Announcements tonight, I'll give you a rundown against my predictions, which were predictably predictable and stuff.
Dave's BS leads, actual results follow.
Dave's BS: Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: Iowa vs. Boise State. Don't miss the halftime knitting extravaganza. Either Iowa or BS wins by 3, who cares cause you won't be watching it.
THE WORD: Nope. Boise State vs. TCU. This might be the best game of the year. FrankJ noted this is a repeat of last year's Poinsettia Bowl, TCU won it by a point, 17-16. Also, that's the lamest name for a bowl since the old Bluebonnet here in Texas.
Dave's BS: Allstate Sugar Bowl: Cincinnati will meet up with Florida, and take em by a touchdown. Which will suck, beating the team ranked one all season long, and placing 3rd.
THE WORD: Ok, yep. Note my brilliant call on Florida.
Dave's BS: Fedex Orange: Ga. Tech vs. TCU. I gotta say about TCU, wow, for a school with "Christian" in the name, whose mascot is a lizard that fire ants damn near killed off in Texas, ok I forget where I was going, but helluva season for the Horned Frogs. This is the one team I really didn't want Texas to play, no glory in whippin them (per se), but hella shame to lose to em. Horny Frogs by 12 over the Wreck.
THE WORD: Substitute in Iowa for TCU. Another good game I think.
Dave's BS: Citi BCS: Alabama vs. Texas for the National Championship. True story, couple of years after we moved to Texas (from Alabama) my dad (Auburn grad) took me to the Cotton Bowl to watch Texas beat Alabama 17-13. I was the only kid on our side of the field with pimples and an Alabama pennant. Not this year. Texas by 13.
THE WORD: Yep. Alabama meets Texas again in the title game in Pasadena. Texas better figure out some stuff between now and then. I have never seen Mack Brown look as confused as he did last night. Outcoached from the first kick. Right now I'd say Alabama by 14.
I'm mostly right. I'm like a BCS computer, with hair.
UPDATE: HAH! Comparisons in the comments.
