Video: Proof That For Years Left Agitated for Assassins to Kill Bush
Such is Rachel Maddow's thesis about calling Obama Hitler.
Enjoy her pontificate on the "dog whistles" and deliberate, knowing incitement towards political violence as you watch dozens of Bush = Hitler signs.
One small quibble about this video: Several pictures seem to show these signs in overseas demonstrations, which seem to me to be not-quite-on-point and furthermore and easy objection from the left, e.g., "Oh, that video was all overseas protests." Which isn't remotely true, but that hasn't stopped them yet.
90% of the pictures are of domestic protests. So if it were my video, I'd cut out the overseas ones just to focus unambiguously on the American pro-assassination left.
My own opinion is that the Hitler stuff is off-base, overwrought, and may increase the chances of this sort of thing. (At most, the effect is just above "trivial" and "contributory" rather than primary, and yet, even with such a small effect, it still seems to me to be not worth it. Rhetorically, it's empty. It's the equivalent of crying "racist" at this point.)
Which is why I constantly railed against even clearer incitements on the left for years -- and also probably why the Leftwing Media studiously ignored the phenomenon then. They didn't mind a little incitement, if the right people were being incited against.
Maddow also fails to note that those toting Hitler posters tend not to be Republicans at all, but the Democratic Party's own angry, Jew-baiting, openly socialist and conspiratorial fringe, the the Lyndon LaRouche movement.
