ACORN Claims That O'Keefe & "Hannah" Tried Same Tax-Advice-for-Child-Prostitution Scam at Other Offices, Where They Were Angrily Turned Away
Scott Levenson, claiming that the videos presented by O'Keefe and his partner-in-sting Hannah Giles were a "smear" and "defamatory," claimed in his statement they'd tried the same trick at other offices and came away with no shock video at all.
See, what these deceivers did was keep trying until they found "two lone nuts" at one single office willing to give tax advice to child-sex-slavers. And then presented that to us as evidence indicting ACORN generally.
Horrible. Horrible that O'Keefe and "Hannah" would deceive us, and the good folks at ACORN, like that.
So, is Levenson's claim true?
Well, yes.
O'Keefe and Hannah did try the same sting at a DC ACORN office.
And they did withhold that tape until today.
So, although it pains me to say it, Scott Levenson is right.
Or partly right. Because, you see, while O'Keefe and Hannah did try this at other offices, and did withhold the tape until now, it's not true they were turned away and told not to engage in child prostitution at the DC office.
Indeed, they got the same helpful advice there -- helpful advice how to run a child-sex-slave brothel and smooth it over on their tax returns -- at the DC office.
With one bit of sound advice: Because O'Keefe represents himself as a would-be politician, they strongly recommend that O'Keefe, while engaging in child prostitution, try to hide his association with the child-sex-slavers. The big advice here is to stay away from the actual brothel they're setting up.
Set up the brothel, sure. Hang out at the brothel? That's iffy. Looks bad.
"We're looking out for you," the ACORN workers tell them.
Kinda like befriending two unrepentant terrorists and an anti-American, racist preacher. Sure, do it all you like. Just retain plausible deniabilty if you plan on seeking elective office.
It is delicious that O'Keefe and Hannah held this video back and induced Scott Levenson, willing and able to lie about anything at a moment's notice, to claim they'd tried this at other offices and were met with a more appropriate, lawful, human response.
Care to try again, Scott?
What fraction of ACORN's employers are "improperly trained" and "a few bad apples" engaging in criminal activity all on their own dime? Apparently, to listen to Levenson's spin, the fraction is somewhere in the realm of 4/5ths.
Andy Levy and I have spent the past few hours toasting the fact that this otherwise fine, upstanding organization has now been purged of its few bad actors. Will you join us, my friends? Surely ACORN’s return to civic glory deserves some celebration.
To answer Allah's exit question: No, a lawsuit by Glenn Beck over the "raped and murdered" slander isn't counterproductive. Yes, Glenn Beck's suit will give the charge wider coverage -- but that's the point.
Beck wants it widely known this is a lie based on an old Gilbert Gotfried roast (hilarious when he did it, by the way). What he doesn't want is a bunch of morons actually believing this as it floats around subterraneanly, much like Obama's apes who eat figs.
Update: I thought Hannah was only going by her first name, as that's the name I saw in the chyron on Beck.
But commenters tell me her name is known.
People are Dumb: Thus requiring Glenn Beck to sue.
Note that everyone is laughing as he says this. Including Bob Saget. Also note that, if true, it's not what you'd call the "classic" put-down at a roast. Kinda... a little strong.
Why did Gilbert Godfried say Bob Saget raped and killed a girl in the 90s at the Comedy Central Roast?
Did anyone watch the Bob Saget roast last night? When Gilbert Godfried first went up there to start roasting Bob Saget he said something about Bob Saget having raped and killed a girl in 1990. He repeated it like 3 times. I'd never heard that before. It's not true is it? Was it just something Gilbert Godfried made up that night or is it like an old rumor or something?
See, it's an "opposite joke," as Monk terms it. Sometimes, get this, people say the opposite of what is true to induce laughter.
Anyway, with people really believing that what was obviously comedic schtick might in fact be real in the case of Full House's Bob Saget, and with internet slanderers spamming the whole internet with this same slander about Glenn Beck -- no humorous intent signaled here, either -- yes, I'd say the man needs to sue unless he wants 10% of the population believing he "raped and murdered a young girl in 1990."
