No Photos For You! White House Refuses To Release Scare Force One Photos
What doesn't $328,835 (the cost was likely much higher) buy you? Photos of the world's most famous plane scaring the hell out of New Yorkers.
The $328,835 snapshots of an Air Force One backup plane buzzing lower Manhattan last week will not be shown to the public, the White House said yesterday.
"We have no plans to release them," an aide to President Obama told The Post, refusing to comment further.
The sole purpose of the secret photo-op, which sent thousands of New Yorkers running for cover, was to take new publicity shots of the presidential jet over the city.
"The photos . . . are classified -- that's ridiculous," Councilman Peter Vallone Jr., said.
I don't know if they are officially classified but I'm guessing there are several FOIA requests making their way through the system at this very moment.
Obviously this was an embarrassment for Obama but how does stonewalling the photos mitigate that? It's not like most people don't already know what happened. Release the photos, take the one day hit and move on. But no, Obama will simply try and pretend this didn't happen ("These aren't the photos you are looking for, move along.") thus dragging it out for days until the damn things are released.
Of course The Enchanted Media (tm) can't be moved to actually ask Him about the incident directly. That might be...uncomfortable for everyone. Can't have that.
Quality comment snark from "C. Jordan"
Perhaps the photos were ruined by people running for their lives in the background?
