Banks paying forclosed people to not trash houses
The "Cash for Keys" program:
...Some banks are doing something called cash for keys. It's an incentive for people facing foreclosure to leave their house move-in ready, and if they do, the bank will pay them - sometimes up to $3,000.
Of course, this move was prompted by people ripping the hell out of places before they scooted.
...That's when Annalisa Xioutas gets to work. Hired by banks or Realtors, she will go into the foreclosed home, clean it up, and make the necessary repairs. One Lehigh Acres house cost the bank almost $30,000 to fix...
