Evan Sayet Gives Liberals Hell Again
You may remember Evan Sayet's YouTubed speech about liberalism that was the rage in early 2007.
He just did another one at the Heritage Foundation. It's "Hating What's Right...," about the mindset of liberals that causes them to, well, hate what's right. Namely: The cult of sophistry that dominates liberal thinking, in which there can never be any discrimination between right or wrong, or good and evil, because that's some sort of bigoted discrimination. And how that starting premise causes them to challenge all positive, morality- and success-engendering value systems, and ultimately to embrace morality- and success-destroying value systems.
It's long, but worth it. I suggest multitasking until you get hooked.
Link here, including an option for saving as an mp3 for your iPod.
If you want to cut to the more furious stuff, jump to around 19:00 when he discusses the denial of objective truth in relation to 9/11.
He gets off a good line about the "most ironically named monument in human history, the Arc de Triomph," wondering "how many times you have to march under the Arc de Triomph with your hands in the air before you change the name."
Incidentally, he's actually first a comic, though he's very serious here, France-bashing aside. He does a show at LA's Laugh Factory (with other conservative comics, I believe) the third Tuesday of every month. Next show's on the 17th.
Rosie O'Donnell... At 39:15.
Paraphrased:
Rosie O'Donnell claimed 9/11 was an inside job, saying never before in human history has fire melted steel. That's a very powerful piece of scientific evidence -- except for one flaw. Fire is how we melt steel. Fire is the only thing that can melt steel. And you know she knows this. You know she's watched Flashdance... dozens and dozens of times. Maybe if the Construction Worker from the Village People had a welding torch... She knows heat melts steel. Hasn't she ever noticed her silverwear bending from the heat...?
Good bit near the end (around 42:00) about the rich elite class of militant liberals being entirely immune from their bad policy prescriptions. "Stupidity is a luxury," and only those with a great deal of money can afford it.
At 47:00 or so, he answer a much-asked question, "Why are Jews so liberal?"
Another Gem:
College children. No matter how much they binge drink, no matter how much they projectile vomit, they still wake up on someone’s well-manicured lawn… Stupidity is a luxury. And you will find time and time and time again that those who are on the left are those who can afford to be.
Sayet loosens up and is more comedic in the Q&A at the end, by the way.
The beginning stuff is good -- but quite serious. If you just want some quick hits and zingers, the Q&A is lighter fare.
