Hmmm: David Petraeus Schedules Iowa Speech in 2010
Update: Nope, a Joke, Says Goldfarb
Update: Goldfarb clarifies this whole "scoop" was a clumsy attempt at a joke.
I don't get the joke, really. But anyway, ignore this non-scoop. Sorry -- hey, it read straight to me.
Thanks to FrankG for alerting me to this.
The original post is ducked into the extended entry box, because, you know, it's all wrong, and not really worth your reading.
Broken by the Michael Goldfarb at the Weekly Standard, seized upon by the American Spectator.
Petraeus will also be addressing the commissioning ceremonies for Harvard and MIT ROTC. THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned that General Petraeus is planning on delivering the commencement address at the University of Iowa in 2010.
As Petraeus has no ties to Iowa, it raises wonderful questions about why he might be choosing this state out of all others.
The Spectator notes:
Previously, it has been thought that Petraeus would not run against a president who had been his Commander in Chief. But there are reports of tension between Petraeus and Obama over both Iraq and Afghan strategy.
I'm starting a company that makes nothing but BETRAY-US t-shirts. Can you imagine how much money I'll be rolling in? Can you?
And what if Palin is his running mate? The rich, witty P-P jokes alone will make me a millionaire!
