Obama's Hammer and Sickle

As commenters note, Obama's creepy branding is similar to Soviet iconography. Instead of a sickle, a leaf; instead of a hammer, a gear. Instead of the tools of the worker, the fruits of their labor.

Deliberate? Or just some sort of subconscious Jungian attraction to such symbols? Certainly the latter -- they're brazen but not that brazen -- so we can take some small comfort in that.

Incidentally, you can be sure that all the dubious earmarks in the spendulus don't get the logo treatment. The logo will be reserved for the small percentage of less-controversial spending.
