Paid $93K/yr to do absolutely nothing, yet he's a victim and discriminated against
Only in New York state government could something like this happen. When you have a state where 1:10 workers has a government job of some sort, a few by necessity are going to have to "take one for the team" and do nothing because there simply isn't enough actual work to be done.
This fellow is not only a victim, he's a hero for a dawning new era! I know its been grueling and hard doing absolutely nothing for 10 years and being paid $93K to do it, but this is the kind of dedication and perseverance they make movies about.
Total. Personal. Commitment.
As he tells it, Randall Hinton is paid $93,803 a year to do nothing.
He spends much of his workday at the State Insurance Fund donning headphones, listening to rock 'n' roll, blues or classical tunes and his superiors are cool with that.
His work agenda involves placing his feet up on his desk, staring out his office window and counting cars on the New York State Thruway. He arrives at 7:30 a.m., leaves at 3:30 p.m., sees no one and talks to no one.
He never does any work. It's been this way for Hinton for most of this decade...
