Polls: McCain/Palin's Lead Narrows to One in Both Rasmussen and Gallup; McCain/Palin Out Ahead in the States
But, as I've contended, state polls are lagging indicators. It's the national polls that are telling you where the state polls will be next week.
It's a fight. We're ahead, but just barely (perhaps a bit more with the Bradley Effect), and we could easily lose this if Obama's GOTV game is as good as advertised.
By the way, the Bradley Effect is not about racism. It's about voters who don't want to be thought of as racist claiming they'll vote for the black guy. They may be voting against the black guy for racist reasons, but actually, they probably have other reasons -- real racists are pretty proud about saying "I won't vote for the colored feller."
"Bradley Effect" false responders aren't usually racist -- they're just weak and easily cowed by out-of-control PC, which demands (as Barack Obama himself often makes explicit) that if you don't vote for the (half) black guy, even if you disagree with him on most issues and think he's a jejune naif with the thinnest resume of any major candidate to ever seek the presidency, someone out there is going to think you're a "hater."
Oh, and by the way: Governor Sebelius says you're racist, because you use racial code words like "liberal," "inexperienced," and "panderer."
