Heh: "Bullitt" Car Chase, Tracked Via Google Earth
Supposedly the best car chase ever. (Supposedly.)
Follow the chase side-by-side with a Google Earth map showing where in the city they are at any moment.
PS: Can anyone explain what makes this chase so good? Personally I don't get it. One thing I recognize is that, unlike in the usual "car chase," where vehicles are really only going 45-50 miles per hour at most and short cuts and other tricks suggest, sort of, they're going faster, these guys really do seem to open it up, maybe hitting 70 or 80 or more on the outside-the-city straightaway. Maybe they do a dangerous 60 in the city.
But, apart from that, I don't know. High real speed itself isn't all that important or dramatic in a chase. Ask The Road Warrior. Hell, I don't know if those boys were doing more than 30 for most of that "chase."
