Obamassiah: Lay Off My Wife

Add Michelle Obama to the growing lists of things that are officially distractions from the all important business of bringing Hope And Change to America.

Remember the whole, “for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country” business? Well the Tennessee GOP created a 4 minute video about it and He is not happy.

But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable," he said.

Obama praised his wife's patriotism and said that for Republicans "to try to distort or to play snippets of her remarks in ways that are unflattering to her I think is just low class ... and especially for people who purport to be promoters of family values, who claim that they are protectors of the values and ideals and the decency of the American people to start attacking my wife in a political campaign I think is detestable.

In general I agree that families should be off limits (especially kids) or at least not held to the same standard as the candidate. Some family members don’t get involved in the campaign and some who do aren’t political pros who speak to issues but only talk about how much they love their wife or husband.

In this case however, Michelle Obama made the statement at a campaign rally while stumping for her husband. Obama has repeatedly said Michelle is a big part of his campaign. He and members of his campaign refer to her as ‘the closer’. If things she says at an official Obama event are beyond the pale we might as well proceed straight to the coronation.

Of course this is also a bigger issue than it might normally be given Obama’s other relationships with people like Reverend Jeremiah “Chickens Are Coming Home To Roost” Wright and Bill “I Wished We Bombed More” Ayers.

This is the video that Obama isn’t happy about.

I am sure the MSM, having received their marching orders, will redouble their efforts to do as they are told and limit ‘distractions’ like the Republican party.
