I know the title is an old joke in conservative circles to describe how the Mainstream Media frames almost every story, but this story and the above listed title meld perfectly. It seems the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will cut food aid shipments to some of the poorest countries in the world due to rising food costs.

Well, that truly is sad, but what are the culprits here? My meager knowledge of economics tells me that when demand increases more than the available supply, prices will increase, a little tidbit missing from this story. And I would wager that one of the factors behind the "soaring" costs of corn are tied to the demands to produce E85 and other ethanol products in this country.

And who is pushing for this E85? Why, the environmentalist wackos, of course. But I get the feeling they don't give a shit that their precious hybrid fuels and cars are helping starve poor people in Africa.
