Heh: That Unrun Huckabee Ad Included The Charge Against Romney That He Hadn't Executed Anybody
Soft on crime? It would seem so, except when you consider Massachusetts didn't and doesn't (and never will) have the death penalty.
Geraghty:
I suppose Romney could have just gone out and killed somebody - I understand the opposition party in that state is big on leaving people in cars underwater.
He speculates that had the ad run it would have been the talk of the state and harmed Huckabee by once again demonstrating his idiocy and/or his belief that he can con people with the most transparent cons.
That seems like pretty non-astute speculation to me, given that many in Iowa seem impressed by the Huckster's "elevating the tone" by not going through with the ad buy.
Updated: At Geraghty's. Romney's people have contacted him to let him know Romney did, in fact, seek to reinstate the death penalty. Massachusetts, being Massachusetts, didn't think that was a cool idea.
