McCain: CNN is a Big Meanie, Send Cash
John McCain's staff are a little upset at the coverage of the "Bitch Incident." And maybe they should be. It's news, but not the Oh-my-gosh-I-can't-believe-it-call-your-mother event that Rick Sanchez made it out to be.
On the other hand, this fundraising letter from McCain is just sad:
Campaign manager Rick Davis, in a fundraising letter, charged the "Clinton News Network" with "gratuitously attacking" McCain. He said that CNN "owes John McCain an apology because of the outrageous behavior" of Sanchez, and that "the liberal media" are "trying to stop the McCain comeback."
This is an attempt at fundraising, and I imagine folks who get these letters are already leaning towards McCain. They might even find that whine compelling enough to send cash. But we just saw a week of Clinton-bashing because she felt that the media was too hard on her. It isn't any more attractive coming from McCain.
If John McCain thinks he's being gratuitously attacked now, he needs to consider how much unfavorable attention he'll get as president.
