Quick Thing About Last Night
Patterico invited me to this cool monthly party held up in a restaurant in the Hollywood Hills. I got to talk about Rush Limbaugh's Donovan McNabb comments with none other than Jimmy "J.J." Walker, who happened to come in with Ann Coulter.
She looked good. Better than on TV. She's not quite as tall or as skinny as TV would have it.
I also got to meet Mickey Kaus, who was incredibly apologetic over this super-minor-trivial thing. (He had given me a bad tip, but it wasn't a bad tip, it was speculation, and it wasn't even necessarily bad.) So he's, I guess, polite to a fault. Got to talk about the Big Rumored Sex Scandal with him. He is Keeping Hope Alive, as they say.
Andrew Breitbart was there but I didn't recognize him; I sorta thought he might be Jeff Daniels. Then again I only barely saw him. Also there was Dale Launer, scripter of My Cousin Vinnie.
There were other people there, of course, but those are the names you might recognize. It was not a right-wing thing, just an LA writers' meet-up; I'm just mentioning the celebrity sorts.
I didn't get to talk to Ann Coulter, by the way. I just introduced myself and shook her hand. I introduced myself by my real name and didn't mention the blog, because I doubt she's heard of it and if she has heard of it she might be annoyed at the various times I've vented about this or that comment.
Anyway, kind of a cool night in LA.
