Federal Marshals Use Trojan Horse Technique to Arrest Tax Evaders in New Hampshire

Ed and Elaine Brown were holed up in their home for months and threatened a violent response if authorities attempted to take them into custody. Marshals disguised themselves as supporters of their cause (who have been hanging around there for months), and after having been invited in for a visit, arrested them without incident.

It's a bit more than a tax evasion case now.

By their continuing actions, allegedly, to obstruct justice, to encourage others to assist them to obstruct justice, by making threats toward law enforcement and other governmental officials, they have turned this into more than a tax case," (U.S. Marshal Stephen) Monier said.
