Atlanta Health Officials Act Decisively to Protect Mexico from TB
17 year old Francisco Santos found out he has contracted tuberculosis, but refused treatment and threatened to return to Mexico (which he says is his home).
Ok, he's a kid. I get it. And since yesterday's story he has since accepted treatment. Because they jailed him in isolation until he agreed to cooperate.
That's pretty aggressive. And I think in the public interest (they certainly think so). Frankly I'm surprised the Gwinnett county officials reacted that strongly.
Any of you legal scholar historian type know the law as it pertains to quarantine and protecting the public from contagion?
