Revealed: Confederate Yankee A Republican Plant; Part Of Conspiracy With White House And "General Betrayus"
CY tips me to this. I guess you're not anybody until someone accuses you of being a Rove stooge.
This comes from the "Daily Democrat" (Google it; I don't link to imbeciles). The last word here is deliciously, unintentionally ironic.
The blogger in question cannot believe how it could be that a military official would answer questions posed to him by an everyday citizen who did not have his Special Media Access Identification Papers in order. Obviously, this flake has never bothered trying to call or email anyone in government for comment.
I have. So have many of you. Particularly during the immigration fight. It's not, you know, impossible to get government officials and politicians to talk to citizens.
This guy is really baffled at the idea that anyone lacking proper MSM certification can even type an email to an official. It's just so implausible a scenario to him he smells a dark conspiracy afoot.
Above-the-fold update: Drew cuts to the chase:
Yeah, it's a real head scratcher as to why the PUBLIC Affairs Officer would be answering questions from the PUBLIC. It's clearly some sort of conspiracy.
A conspiracy of people to actually do their assigned jobs, it seems. The darkest conspiracy of all.
WHY is a private citizen (with a very specific agenda) receiving emails straight from General Petraeus’ Public Affairs officer, UNLESS this is all of a whole cloth?
Why are three of the top Democratic candidates for President appearing at YearlyKos? Why does Senate Leader Harry Reid post there?
It's a mystery.
Let’s take this a step further: WHY would Petraeus’ Public Affairs officer respond to a blogger’s email request for information that discredits a private in a political scandal with a pro-Administration spin unless the Administration was in on it?
Ummm... because it's what their investigation found?
Does anyone seriously think that if I emailed for confirmation of the opposite I’d get a reply? No: the lid would be clamped down if the opposite result had been “revealed” by that internal investigation. It’s entirely too political for the Pentagon to touch, UNLESS they were playing politics with full White House approval.
The Army does NOT make its internal investigations public without a court order, as a rule, and it CERTAINLY doesn’t release the information through a sympathetic blogger … unless this is being coordinated from the top, and is a White House policy.
Or, do you believe that Petreus is running a “rogue” operation?
Come on. There is a scandal here, all right.
Yes, the scandal is in our education system, from grade school through college, in its abject failure to teach 80% of the population something resembling systematic, rigorous critical thinking.
Tinker to Evers to Chance: White House to Petreus to Confederate Yankee and blogosmear.
Tinker to Evers to Chance: That's three outs right there, in case you're keeping track. (Okay, baseball geeks: I know it's a famous double-play combination. But surely this legendary trio got a three-outer once or twice.)
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the swiftboating of Private Beauchamp by the commanding general of the Iraqi forces, almost undoubtedly on direct orders from the White House. Let them answer the charge, or stand convicted by their very silence.
...
And The New Republic has credibility problems?
More to come.
Courage.
Courage, indeed. Who's signoff was that, again?
Remember, it's the rightwing bloggers making all sorts of reckless and crazy charges in this Scott Beauchamp controversy. The leftwing, of course, is maintaining its typical reality-based lucidity.
Oh, and that surge you've heard about? It's an illusion. Everyone is lying. Including reliably left-leaning reporters like Joe Klein.
When I tell you the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy is vast, brother, you have no fuggin' idea.
