At CNN, Republicans Are Questioned About The Weirdness Of Their Religions, But Top Democratic Candidates Are Afforded Hours To Explain How Their Religion Makes Them More Similar To The Average Voter
I saw part of this last week. The difference between Wolf Blitzer's questioning of Republicans -- treating fairly mainstream Christians, and a Mormon, as if they were part of the Hale-Bopp Cometary Death Cult -- and the treatment of Edwards, Obama, and Hillary on their religious beliefs was astounding.
For Republicans, religion was raised as a sword to cut their connection from the "average American voter."
For Democrats, religion was used as a shield to defend them from charges they didn't share the values of the "average American voter."
As has frequently been suggested, they're not even bothering to hide their bias anymore.
We on the right used to ask for precisely that -- but with an important correlative: That the MSM actually admit its bias forthrightly, rather than continue the laughable ruse they're neutral and objective.
Well, they definitely have given us half of what we asked for. Their bias is so transparent and egregious it's hardly worth mentioning anymore.
And yet still they claim they're politically neutral and report "straight down the middle."
