Report of the NC AG on the Duke No-Rape

It's not as detailed nor as thorough as I would have liked. KC Johnson's does a better job every other day pointing out her ludicrous contradictions.

Still, it does contain additional details about Crystal Gail Mangum's sudden allegation -- coming a year after her first claim of rape (and recanting of that claim, and recanting of the recanting) -- that she had actually been suspended in mid-air during the rape.

It's more absurd than I orignally thought.

Allow me to quote the Sex Pistols:

Clinical but graphic details about a delusionary non-rape follow.

When I first heard of the "suspended in mid-air allegation" I thought it was, of course, ridiculous. But even as I tried to picture it, my brain cheated and made it seem less absurd. For example, I pictured one of her legs partly supporting her weight on a sink and her arms pressed against the walls to also help lift herself.

In other words, the only way I could even begin to make sense of this absurd scenario was to imagine that she was actually assisting in her "suspension in mid-air." I didn't intend to imagine her helping, but my brain, knowing how difficult it is to lift a dead-weight human body especially from a bad angle, automatically began filling in details about how such a thing could even be physically possible.

Mangum's specifics about this freshly-remembered detail don't feature her helping to lift her own body to better enable her combination rapists/circus acrobats, of course. But the specifics she offers makes it even more laugh-out-loud ludicrous. By explaining exactly how this dubious bit of Flying Wallenda high-wire sodomy could have occurred, she shows herself not only to be a liar, but a woman only faintly acquainted with the plausible boundaries of physical reality.

You can skip to the bold face. The rest is just preamble and context.

The accusing witness gave numerous differing statements to law enforcement and medical personnel concerning the events on March 13-14, 2006. While witnesses often have inconsistencies in details when recounting events over time, the volume of inconsistent statements and the fact that many of these were substantial and were in regard to significant events rendered the truthfulness of the accusing witness in serious doubt.

For example, the accusing witness’s stories about the alleged attack cannot be reconciled.

At the emergency room, she stated to the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) that she had been sexually assaulted by three people: Adam, Brett and Matt. Specifically, she stated that Matt put his “private” in her and did not use a condom. Adam then put his private part in her “butt.” She did not state what Brett did, if anything, nor did she disclose any other sexual conduct.

Two days later, on March 16, 2006, when talking with investigators, she stated that Matt held her legs and was in front of her. Brett was behind her and put his private part in both her anus and vagina. She claimed that Brett ejaculated. She stated that Matt then went behind her and choked her and did the same thing as Brett. She said that Adam became excited and began to ejaculate and put his “private” in her mouth. Adam then dragged her to the car and he and “Nikki”, the other dancer, wiped her off.

On April 6, 2006, in a handwritten statement, she stated that Matt raped her both vaginally and anally for a total of five minutes. Brett did the same for a total of seven minutes. She said Adam put his penis in her mouth and ejaculated. She stated that they threatened to kill her if she did not shut up. She said that all three were kicking her in the behind and back.

On December 21, 2006, for the first time, she referred to the attackers by the names Dave Evans, Reade Seligmann and Collin Finnerty. She could not say with any certainty that they penetrated her vagina with their penises. She stated that she felt a sharp pain in her vagina and anus. She stated that Seligmann did not participate in the attack but just observed. This was first interview about the events after DNA tests showed that no DNA from the defendants was found on the accusing witness.

On March 29, 2007, she stated to the special prosecutors that the players took off her underwear and lifted her into the air. Finnerty crouched below her in a squatting position and held her up. Evans got behind her. She felt a sharp pain in her vagina. She felt a sharp pain in her anus. Finnerty got up and went behind her. Seligmann got under her and held her up in the air. Evans was then in front of her. Evans told Seligmann who was crouched holding her up to relax and do her. Evans ejaculated in her mouth and she spit it on the floor. She indicated to the special prosecutors that all three individuals were active participants in the assault.

The rapists were crouching on the floor beneath her (taking turns doing the heavy lifting), lifting her above their heads, knees bent. Lifting a 110 or 120 pound dead-weight noncooperative (or actively struggling) woman from a catcher's stance.

Presumably, they were down blocking in front of home plante just in case one of their fellow rapist's ejaculatory fastballs went down into the dirt and needed to be quckly thrown to pick off the baserunner trying to steal second base (also known as "the towel rack").

Furthermore, this odd form of suspension -- with all the force of her weight, and all of the pressure exerted down on to the "catcher's" hands, his fingers presumably digging in deep to keep her from moving too much during the rape -- left absolutely no brusing whatsoever on her body.

"Something must have happened," the feminists continue to insist.

Well why go for half-measures and merely claim "something" must have happened? If our gynocranks are so sure that Mangum's story must contain some truth, why not stake their credibility (such as it is) on claiming that this incident in particular occurred?

After all, she couldn't have just imagined being suspended in mid-air while a guy beneath her cleaned-and-jerked her like a competitor in the midget bodybuilding championships. And she wouldn't have lied, God knows. Women don't lie about rape. Or, at least, they don't completely lie. At most, they embellish around the edges -- a bit of literary flair, as Joseph Wilson would say.

So, obviously, this claim must contain some truth, just as the broader outline of her claims must contain some truth.

So why shouldn't the feminists deem this version of be mostly or even entirely true? In for a dime, in for a delusion.

Elmostafa is the witness who knew that one of the Duke lacrosse players couldn’t possibly have done what he was accused of doing, and stuck to his story despite police attempts to intimidate him into silence. And while everyone is rightly bashing the sleazeball district attorney, what about the Durham police department? The Durham police in this case come off looking highly suspect, yet no officers or commanders have been fired.

Well, Elmostafa certainly is cool under unethical bordering on illegal pressure, isn't he?
