Media Runs With Claim That Rather Convenient Document "Proves" Kerry's Intent »

Apparently Some Democrats Didn't Get The "Joke," Agree With The Proposition That Iraq Is For The Stupid
From a Democratic blog:
Talk about speaking the stark truth to students who want more out of life. The education system in California is a mess, especially in L.A. County. Each day I pick my daughter up at school I see the recruiters leaving, smiling because they have snagged another kid who’s trapped by the system and sees no future other than enlisting. It shouldn’t be like this. A 50% drop out rate is unacceptable. What is the bottom line for these kids, a job at McDonald’s or Iraq. Kudos to Kerry for delivering a wake up call to the young voters at the rally.
Let me repeat: the claims that our troops are victimns of economic circumstance, forced to Iraq due to a lack of jobs of education, is a standard, uncontroversial trope on the left.
And I'm supposed to believe it's impossible Kerry agrees with this sentiment? Despite having never, say, condemned Charlie Rangel for saying the same thing repeatedly in the past?
Oh, and I know: Hey, it's just a blog. Has nothing to do with John Kerry.
Because we all know that John Kerry has got nothing to do with left-wing blogs.
Like Ned Lamont, he's never heard of them.
Will anyone in the media ask John Kerry if he agrees with the Charlie Rangel's frequent claim that it's mostly poor, uneducated inner-city blacks and rural whites who are fighting in Iraq, due to a lack of other economic opportunity?
We can settle this quickly if the media would simply bother to do its job and ask a simple question.
