Rosie O'Donnell Compares US To Apartheid South Africa, And Osama bin Ladin Terrorists To Nelson Mandela's ANC
In a positive way. Talking about Tim Robbins' new film, Rosie offers up a pro-terrorist apologia that even Tim Robbins is wise enough to walk away from.
Allah will have the video soon, but here's the idiot babbling, and maybe about to get herself fired:
ROSIE O'DONNEL: They [the South African police tasked with cracking down on the ANC] were seeking out "terrorists," which is what they called the people in South Africa, who actually lived there, who were the majority, the blacks in South Africa, who were trying to fight for their own civil rights, were called "terrorists."
And the government was allowed to arrest them at will and interrogate them, no matter what they did, just on the suspicion, very similar today to what we have in the United States, thanks to the Patriot Act.
[Survivor Chick objects.]
TIM ROBBINS: Well they did do which was similar was that they through out due process, the right to an attorney--
ROSIE: Habeas corpus.
ROBBINS: And they allowed the government, and actually required people like this guy I played, to torture people. So what it does to the individual is that it puts an incredible moral burden on the agent of the government, the solidier or the policeman--
ROSIE: Lyddie England.
At this point Robbins distances himself from Rosie's glib stupidity and notes the ANC was fighting for genuine basic human rights and that they didn't target civilians. (Which isn't true, but he's trying to walk away from Rosie's trying to make his movie into a pro-bin Ladin morality play.)
Video Update: Well, I can't upload video off the TV, but this is pretty close to a dramatic reenactment of Rosie's latest moronburst.
You know how stupid this landwhale is? This is true-- she talked about this in an interview. I'm not making this up.
For her starting "stand-up act," all she did -- ALL she did -- was repeat Jerry Seinfeld bits that she had memorized verbatim off his records. Now, some people do stuff like that, but Rosie O'Donnell actually didn't know she wasn't supposed to do that. Other comics had to take her aside and tell her she simply could not go on stage and recite Jerry Seinfeld's act verbatim. And she didn't understand why-- she thought that's what all comics did.
Just memorize another comic's entire act, and parrot it.
That's how fucking stupid this bridge-troll is.
Eddie Murphy did something similar-- just repeating Richard Pryor bits -- but at the time Murphy was like 15 or something (he started out ridiculously young) and he knew damn well he wasn't supposed to do it. But, as he noted, he was just 15 -- what the hell else could he talk about? The only thing he knew about at 15 was taking a crap, and he didn't see how he could build an act around that.
Rosie O'Donnell was an adult woman at the time, and just figured that Jerry Seinfeld was getting "his" act from some other comedian. This Lumbering Scourge of Bear-Claws just didn't even grasp the concept of "creative invention" nor that of "plagiarism."
And who, ultimately, was making these bits up, that all other comedians simply stole?
She lacked the capacity to even imagine the question.
