New Euphemism For Terrorism: "Pressure"

At UCLA's Daily Bruin, the MSM terrorist-apologists-in-training seem to have bright futures ahead of them.

Note: I originally wrote this as a critique of the article's author. Then I remembered that headlines are more a decision for the editorial staff; the author doesn't necessarily get to headline her own article.

The article itself seems pretty fact-based. It's the headline that offends, and that can't necessarily be blamed on the writer. Although her title is "Senior Staff."

Still... could just be a consensus decision by the paper's editors.

UCLA professor made his decision in response to pressure from rights activists, officials say

By Julia Erlandson
DAILY BRUIN SENIOR STAFF

A UCLA professor has vowed to stop experimenting on animals as a result of pressure from animal rights activists, UCLA officials and one activist group said.

Pressure, huh? Protests and the like, I imagine.

Dario Ringach, an associate professor of neuroscience, sent an e-mail to the Animal Liberation Front on Tuesday titled, "You win," promising to stop his animal testing, according to a statement released by the Animal Liberation Press Office.

University spokeswoman Judy Lin confirmed that Ringach did send the e-mail, but said there was no indication that he planned to leave the university.

The Animal Liberation Front also claimed responsibility for the June attempted firebombing of faculty member Lynn Fairbanks' home.

Pressure?

...

The statement released by the Animal Liberation Press Office said Ringach did not give a specific reason for his decision, but did ask that animal rights groups leave his family alone.

"These groups have been harassing him and visiting his neighbors for a couple of years, and he does have small children," Lin said.

Pressure?

Pressure is what the Daily Bruin idiots are going to get when people email them and tell them to stop calling stalking, harrassment, and the attempted firebombing of a home "pressure."

Firebombing a home is not "pressure."

Good God. Is there no depth these people can't sink to in order to apolgize for terrorism?

Congratulations, Daily Bruin staff. You're gonna be Media Stars someday.

Thanks to Robert.

Clarification: I didn't realize the firebombing was, uhh, "merely" an "attempted" one. A couple of commenters have put me some information, and I've added that word. Thanks.
