Fauxtography Update: A View To A Picture Kill
Another Picture Kill. It looks like Reuters had to change the misleading captions. A girl simply underwent "routine surgery," as the captions say now.
The American Turk blog says the photos' original captions read:
Aya, who is 18 months old, cries in the Hariri hospital in Beirut after she was injured in an Israeli air raid in the southern city of Tyre July 24, 2006. The girl has a broken pelvis. REUTERS/Yannis Behrakis
Michelle has more.
Allah continues questioning a spate of photgraphs of cars supposedly hit by Israeli missiles, yet looking suspiciously as if they just had their roofs beaten in with a sledgehammer.
Confederate Yankee wants to know why there's no "rescuers" in this photo assisting this "injured woman," or why the photographer -- apparently the only other person on the scene -- isn't lending her aid. Except, perhaps, for directorial advice.
Thanks to IreneFingIrene... for putting me some information about the original captions (now included in the post).
