Ned Lamont's Activism In Working For Affirmative Action and Equality

Jane "Big Funny" Hamsher attempted to defend Ned Lamont from the charge unconstested fact that he belonged to a "racially selective" country club shortly before running for office, by saying, and I do quote,

"Ned has been committed to affirmative action and equality. He's been more active in achieving those goals than many people."

As he's a political neophyte, the only way I could imagine him "achieving" the goals of "affirmative action and equality" was through his own personal hiring decisions and business associations.

Well. He's assembled a veritable Rainbow Coalition right there. You've got all the important demographics covered -- vanilla, French Bean Vanilla, Double Vanilla with Vanilla Swirls, and Death By Vanilla.

I feel dumb noting this, as I really don't think it's exceptional that his board membership is whiter than the benchwarmers on the Washington Generals, but, you know, there was that claim of "achieving affirmative action and equality."

I know, I know: I'm sure his domestic help will feature a few folks from Mexico, Ecaudor, and the Dominican Republic.

I guess that's what Jane Hamsher meant.
