Dan Rather: Left's Hatred of Bush Begat By Right's Hatred of Left

The circle of hatred continues. And it's hard to say who started it all, except, of course, we all know the right started it.

At the end of the clip, Dan says he's going to be doing news on HDNet with a "different attitude."

O'Relly says, "So, you're going to be a conservative guy?"

Rather gets a good hearty chuckle from that.

Laughter, unlike pro-forma and rote declarations of being "neutral and objective," is an entirely reflexive and involuntary response.

That's his honest response to reporting from a conservative perspective. I'm inclined to give that unguarded response a thousand times more weight than his innumerable claims of objectivity and political neutrality over the years.
