NYC The Politest Big City In The Whole World
Thansk to Rudy Giuliani's various quality-of-life initiatives, muggers always say "Thank you for your patronage" after they leave you for dead in a rat-infested alley.
Reader's Digest magazine carried out the tests by sending journalists to cities in 35 countries. London and Paris were in joint 15th place with a score of 57 per cent, while India's Mumbai came bottom with 32 per cent.
I have to say that, despite the general knock on the French for haughtiness to foreigners, I found the French to be pretty polite and helpful, by and large.
