FoxNews Down 17%; CNN Down By 38%; Guess Which Warrants A Headline In the LAT?
No, seriously, you have three guesses.
Interestingly, MSNBC is up 16%, which I guess means that their rabidly-lefty take on the news (or "news-like substitues") is working for them.
Then again, it's pretty easy to manage a 16% increase when you have MSNBC's average vieweership of six hundred people. You just need another 100 people to accidentally click on your station while looking for some classic episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger, and whammo, 16% increase.
I think those numbers actually do mean something, though. Are you all as adverse to watching the news lately as I am? I used to be a newshound, especially on Sundays. I'd record all the Sunday shows, even the ones I never watch.
Now I barely even bother with Fox News Sunday.
Maybe I'm just a big stinking Republican Eeyore, but I do sense that the wheels have come off the wagon on this administration, and that makes it harder to be interested in the news. Every day seems like more bad news.
Except as regards the economy. But, of course, that doesn't really make it to the news, now does it?
So... maybe Fox's droop shows that conservatives are dispirited, and MSNBC's Matthews-Olberman suckboy tandem shows that liberals are excited. (Hey, if America's doing poorly, and Iran's about to get the bomb and blow us all up, that's worth partying over, right?)
I don't know.
I try not to phone it in here, but I sure could use some real good news to make this more fun.
I'm not saying I have to gloat every day. But once a month would be nice.
Remember gloating?
Those were good times.
