Kos Kids Lose Another One
Kos championed a guy named Rodriguez in Texas' 28th district, and he... lost.
I give Kos some credit in trying to change business-as-usual in his party, even if I disagree with his politics. The idea, divorced from the politics, isn't bad.
But he's got to get over the idea that American politics mirrors those found on The West Left Wing. Sorry, Kos, but America does not actually hunger for a brave and uncompromising liberal politics. That's just you. And even you don't actually crave it that much. You just want Democrats to win, no matter how liberal or conservative they are.
It's a cult of personality, with Kos just loving the power he has, improbably enough, been granted for no discernable reason, while continuing to hate the fact he doesn't have quite enough power to actually do anything.
Sure, he can get invited to conferences and "discuss issues" with candidates. And they'll happily use him to raise money. But the decision-making is still with the adults, and by "adults," of course I mean George Soros.
Right Wing News rounds up the usual unhinged reactions from the Kos Kids. Again: "We lost, so democracy is dead," "Karl Rove rigged the Democratic primary elections," that sort of thing.
Like the man said, "If you go carryin' pictures of Chairman Mao/You ain't gonna make it anyhow."
Thanks to HD.
Lennon Had It Backwards Update: Reddish Jode notes that, given the linkage between sexlessness and political extremism, the lyric should have run:
But if you can't make with anyone anyhow
You're going to start carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
True. Except in America -- especially at that time -- the more left your politics, the better your chances.
Which is perhaps why we never actually had a revolution here in the sixties. It's all nice to talk about revolution, but who can get up the initiative to tear down the state when you're nice and relaxed from a good humping?
