AP Corrects Levee-Breach Story
Well, the "right-wing spin machine" was claiming the briefing Bush received spoke only of the levees being overtopped, or flooded over, not breached.
The AP story claimed he'd been told they'd been "breached," but, oddly enough, failed to quote the videotape as having recorded that.
AP Now admits: Bush had not been warned that the levees might be "breached" in that breifing.
Why is it important? Why did AP claim he'd been warned that the levees could be "breached" rather than "overtopped"?
In order to call him a liar, as he'd said, days after the event, that he'd never been warned the levees could be "breached."
Without that, they really had no story at all. So they didn't let that stop them. They just deliberately avoided quoting the actual language ("topped" or "overtopped") and wrote the word "breached."
They're beneath contempt.
Meanwhile, Wizbang thinks he's found a Rathergate connection in this newest made-up fake news story.
No wonder the liberal media are all such fans of Jon Stewart. He's better at fake news than they are.
