Evil? The Left Isn't Quite Sure
Via Malkin:
- the root causes of terrorism are what needs to be addressed in order to get a handle on changing these circumstances. There are myriads (literally) of terrorists who have reasons for what they are doing and planning on doing? This is not insanity. Nor is it helpful to attach the term "evil" to these events. Shock and awe is perhaps the best description of what happened in London this morning, but that strikes a little to close to home doesn't it? What do you think are the various reasons for their actions and how can we address them?
No, only Karl Rove is truly evil.
This, on the other hand, is just folks doing what they have to do to stand up for themselves:
Not sure if the man's face was shredded by flying glass or scorched and disfigured by bomb-fire, but I'm sure he'll be comforted to know that his maiming was done for "reasons" that we really should begin "addressing."
The callous viciousness of these lunatics is appalling. And I say that in full realization that I am in Andrew Sullivan outrage mode.
The amazing thing is that these people spend so much time whining about truly fictititious threats -- like KKKarl Rove's Men in Black carting them off to Gitmo for daring to vote Democratic.
But when a real attack occurs, and people are killed and disfigured, they're strangely... understanding.
Perhaps they should just bear in mind that Bush has "reasons" for doing what he does, too. It's part of his culture, after all. Like the Islamofascists, the WASPs in the United States have historical grievances against the world, and have seen their once mighty influence wane through the years. They've even lost some of their greatest bastions of power, just as the Arabs lost Spain.
Partly to those crafty Jews, in fact. Harvard and Princeton used to be Protestant bastions with quotas on Jewish applicants; now, dang, the places are lousy with Jews. And Indians. And Asians. And etc.
So, DUmmies... please, use some of the empathy you have for Al Qaeda terrorists -- empathy which seems in infinite supply -- to consider the poor case of George Bush and his band of aggrieved religious lunatics as well.
