I Hate March Madness
Well, I don't hate it. I just don't care about it.
What I hate is being expected to have a frigging opinion about Xavier's chances against Georgetown just because I'm 1) male 2) heterosexual and 3) usually standing around with a beer in my hand and a spit-bubble forming in my slack-jawed mouth.
And I hate that look I get when I confess ignorance, and then the other guy -- or, Emasculation City, the girl -- says, "You're not into The Madness, man?" and then gives me that look. That look that says, "Why don't you get out of here and go hang out in Downtown Lad's 3 million dollar loft?"
Hey-- leave me alone. I follow one sport and I think that's enough. (The Amazing Race is considered a sport, right? I mean, it's got track-and-field elements in it. And Extreme Travel Booking. And Synchronized Shouting At Foreign Taxi Drivers.)
But a lot of you probably are probably going to be watching "The Madness" and so you might as well attempt to try to make this six bazillion hours of tv coverage interesting by entering the ACCBasketblog pool.
And if you win, you'll get 1) props and 2) a Basketblog t-shirt or coffee mug, whenever they get around to making them.
You know what's cool? Free shit. That's what's cool, baby.
