Good morning, kids. Monday and fingers crossed this is working. A fire in Utah knocking us out sounds almost as wacky as a toilet backing up in Atlanta flooding six states on Election Night. Almost. Unfortunately there will be no editorial this morning. It took me about two hours to completely reformat everything for this site (feh). That said, everything is pretty much self-explanatory so talk amongst yourselves. Hopefully this will be fixed by tonight or tomorrow. You can always go over to my site as well in case this thing is a total FUBAR. I will repost there shortly.

Had to wear a mask, and both planes were full to the point of offering vouchers if you'd give up your seat, but the airports were almost empty. Actually a more pleasant flying experience than most I've had. Individual donors are vested in their politician's success, corporations just want a cheap whore for skimming fed dollars and stifling competitors as does the RNC. The weakest voices in the legislatures are those that depend on special interest campaign funding and the leadership pacs of Congress represent the worst in selling out to special interests as donors. Follow the money.

If timing is more important that ideology, that might imply that timing is *also* more important than quantity or size. I am always surprised by how cheaply these guys are bought. I don't have access, but I have enough money to buy a representative based on what I've seen. You can buy a representative for less than a decent new car, which never made any sense to me.

Yes, it is accurate to say that. The problem with donating all at once is that the representative can take your contributions for granted either close to the election or at the beginning of a term.

Donating smaller amounts than the max or from different corporate executive donors or splitting your donations between primary and general elections can have an outsized effect on votes on legislation. There is some reason to believe that these donations can also be tied to markups of legislation in committee.

I believe it. Falls are tough, especially on the elderly. Not only are bones more fragile, falling does something to you. I have seen people who fell and weren't injured but were shocked - disoriented, cold sweats, etc. - for a little while. That's hard on the body and if you're marginal, it can push you over the edge.

Can you possibly adjust the field ordering without breaking things? If you're in the text box, you can't return to the Name/Mail/Web/Captcha fields with SHIFT+TAB. SHIFT+TAB returns to the comment URLs, and forward (regular) tabbing appears to jump to the top of the page. Being able to SHIFT+TAB back to the captcha field and tab down to the Preview or Post buttons would be a nice-to-have.
