I have commented on this a lot, and always quote a line from Smiley in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, as he describes the Soviet's successful effort to turn British Intelligence from an organization to spy on the Soviet Union to an organization to spy for the Soviet Union: "They've pulled us inside-out." America is now all inside-out.
