Feds accuse 6-year-old of plagiarism, strip her duck stamp victory
She traced the outlines (graphite transfer) of her duck from one of her father's photos before painting. Problem is, many painters take photos first and use them this way. It's as old as the camera obscura, the camera lucida, and the use of parabolic mirrors in Renaissance realism. And she's six. Don't give it to her and then take it away. Good grief. Update: The girl was reinstated as winner late Thursday. (H/t commenter "duck_stamp_winner!" for the update.) [rdbrewer]
